On the first Sunday of the month from March to December, Frome town centre is closed to traffic for The Frome Independent. Somerset Farmers' Markets organises the centrally located 24-pitch farmers' market section around the Market Cross / Boyle Cross, marked by green and white striped canopies. The wider event also includes flea, designer, craft, and vintage sections plus music, street theatre, and street food. The farmers' market section includes a few hot-food pitches.
